Modules for fluid aftertreatment
If the process media still need to be treated after evaporation, we also have a number of fluid post-treatment modules available that can be connected downstream of the evaporator. These can be used, for example, to separate residual oil, reduce the chemical oxygen demand using PCS units, desalinate the distillate using ion exchangers, or sterilize it using UV disinfection. Activated carbon filters for post-treatment of the distillate or exhaust air can also be used if required.
RESIDUAL OIL SEPARATION
Residual oil separation after the evaporator works well because the evaporator itself enables a low distillate temperature. As a rule, we achieve single-digit hydrocarbon values (<10 mg/l) after residual oil separation.
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER
Activated carbon filters are not absolutely necessary, but can be used if required. They are designed to fit the specific application perfectly. They are suitable for post-treatment of the distillate and for post-treatment of the exhaust air in order to minimize odors or reduce hydrocarbons.
PCS UNITS
Our downstream PCS units are an effective way to significantly reduce COD loads in distillate. The PCS units are ventilated activated carbon units that act like a bioreactor and can reduce chemical oxygen demand (COD) by 40%.
DESALINATION OF THE DISTILLATE
If necessary, the distillate can be desalinated after evaporation using ion exchange resins.
UV DISINFECTION
UV sterilization takes place in the tank in bypass mode. Through continuous circulation and irradiation, the UV reactor prevents contamination of the distillate.
